Topic: Haemophilia

Description

Haemophilia is a rare blood disorder caused by an inherited gene. People with haemophilia lack one of the essential blood clotting factors. There are differing degrees of severity of haemophilia and they are related to the level of deficiency of the clotting factor.

This disorder is often associated with bleeding to death from a small cut but, in reality, the bleeding is mostly internal. An injection of blood products provides the essential clotting factor to stop the internal bleeding.
