Topic: Hypothermia

Description

Hypothermia occurs when the body's control mechanisms fail to maintain a normal body temperature and the temperature falls below 35C. Signs and symptoms that may develop include gradual loss of mental and physical abilities. Severe hypothermia can lead to death.

The risk of hypothermia isn't confined to freezing conditions. It often happens in temperatures ranging from 0 - 10C and may be caused by medical conditions.
